The treatments we use to resolve dental emergencies and relieve pain quickly.
A dental emergency — a broken tooth, injury, bleeding gums, a knocked-out tooth, or soft-tissue injury — needs prompt attention to save the tooth. We choose the right treatment based on the severity of your condition.
Common emergency treatments
- Dental filling: restores broken or decayed teeth; we use tooth-colored composite.
- Root canal and crown: removes infected tissue, then protects the tooth with a crown.
- Drainage: relieves pressure from an abscess, often with antibiotics to control infection.
Preventing dental emergencies
- Brush and floss regularly, especially after meals.
- Avoid biting hard foods like candy and ice.
- Wear a protective mouthguard if you play sports.
