A single, wide image of your whole mouth to plan implants, extractions, and more.
A panoramic X-ray uses a small amount of radiation to capture your entire mouth in one image — including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, and surrounding tissues. It is a key planning tool for braces, dentures, implants, and extractions.
What it can identify
- Advanced periodontal disease and jaw (TMJ) disorders.
- Sinusitis and cysts in the jawbone.
- Oral cancer or jaw tumors.
- Impacted teeth.
Benefits
- No radiation remains in your body after the exam.
- Non-invasive, quick, and easy to perform.
- Ideal for patients with a sensitive gag reflex.
- Safe for very young children, since nothing is placed in the mouth.
What to expect
No special preparation is needed beyond removing jewelry and eyeglasses and wearing a protective apron. The machine rotates around your head while you stay still, capturing the image in roughly 12 to 20 minutes.
