Tooth-colored fillings that repair cavities while blending in with your natural smile.
Composite, or tooth-colored, fillings restore teeth affected by cracks, decay, fractures, or wear. They remain the most popular choice because they match the exact color of your teeth for a natural look.
When composite fillings help
- Restoring chipped teeth and closing small gaps.
- Repairing cracked or broken teeth.
- Treating decayed or worn-out teeth.
The procedure
The process is straightforward and usually completed in a single visit. We apply a local anesthetic, remove decay and infection, and thoroughly clean the area. If decay is close to the nerve, we add extra protection. We then place the composite filling and shape and polish it to restore the tooth.
After-care
Some sensitivity to hot and cold is normal at first and fades as your tooth adjusts. Brush and floss regularly, watch your diet, and keep routine checkups to protect your fillings.
